The Prophet by Khalil Gibran published back in 1923 is a gracefully classic collection of 26 poetic thoughts weaved with the essence of different aspects of life with a subtle ink. Most of the important parts of us that contribute in our life are covered by Khalil with such grace & depth that you can go for re-reading this book yet feel the soul of the words feeling alive every time you read them with unbiased understanding.
•• Almustafa chosen by Khalil as the voice of the book, speaking to people of Orphalese confronts the unvoiced thoughts for each one of us, of love, giving, joy and sorrow, crime and punishment, reason & passion, freedom (etc) with a subtle sense of questioning followed by the answers that fill his thoughts.
• I found this book beautiful for it adds to how you consider & feel about a lot of emotions. It’s penned neatly & even though classic, it definitely has stood test of time & adds to your overall perspective. You may not comprehend all of it in one go but if you feel like going for something spiritual, it won’t disappoint you.
• You should go for it if you want something light yet meaningful to read.

• Khalil says, “You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”

And I found it beautiful for truly it’s when we give a part of us, be it a kind word, gesture, memory, or a lending ear is when we actually give something. ♥
