“All the evils of this life of ours spring from the tyranny of human beings.”

• We’ve often witnessed the fact that power corrupts people. But, more than that I’ve seen power render the vision of freedom a distant memory, a false hope while it’s one of the most live-able yet worth dying truths of our lives.

Animal Farm by George Orwell depicts how power corrupts not only actions but the most beautiful of visions. Through the story of different animals of Manor Farm oppressed in their own ways at the hands of their owner, Mr Jones, the desire for freedom, the corruption of freedom, & rendering freedom a mere memory of the past is depicted subtly yet in way that it’s synonymous to present-day world. Each animal is given individual characteristics yet each characteristic resembles what lies beneath human skin. We can stand together against external corruption but the corruption of values within & around us defeats us, while we are off-guard.

Summed up in 82 pages, this book is a classic reality.
Even though I’m not a classics fan, I don’t regret picking this one up.
For any beginner of classics (like me), this was a good start to venture out of my comfort genre.
